![]() I haven't been able to use Country, By-line, Headline, writer/editor, etc. I have also found I can substitute $keywords with the same effect however, after that I'm stumped. Using the Vertical skin index as an example, if I change $title to $copyright when one moves over the thumb, whatever is typed in the iptc copyright field appears. I've used Irfanview to fill in the various iptc fields. I am trying to use an iptc field to create a variable "alt" comment when one hovers over a thumb. (apologies for posting a question in Tips although hopefully any answers will prove useful to this topic) Therefore, I am afraid that I cannot help you with your question. Maci, I am not familiar with either Pinnacle Photo Instant Album Software or its “EXI” files. It appears this is a rather limited or perhaps useless "feature" of Windows. Therefore, to answer your question, NO, the Windows Properties dialog box does not write IPTC metadata. But, the Title, subject, etc., that I added to the jpeg file using the Windows Properties file did not appear as metadata in the next page of my BluPlusPlus album. When I opened my album, I could see that the IPTC metadata I had added using IrfanView did show up in the information window on the slide page. In the BluPlusPlus panel, under the Slide tab, I selected ALL under the drop-down list for Meta-data Display Mode. ![]() I opened the file using NotePad and could see the data I added had been written to the header of the jpeg file, but not as IPTC metadata.įinally, I used BluPlusPlus to make an album containing the two files I had just added metadata to, using IrfanView and Windows Properties. I then opened that file using IrfanView and checked on the IPTC metadata. ![]() Next I selected a different jpeg image file, opened the Windows Properties window, selected the Summary Tab, and clicked the > button, I could see the information I had applied in the previous step. Hence, the Windows Properties box does NOT show IPTC metadata. Upon looking at the Summary Tab, none of the IPTC data appeared. Using Windows XP, I right-clicked the image and selected "Properties". I went ahead and filled in all of the IPTC data blocks and saved the image. First, I opened a jpeg file and used IrfanView to fill in some IPTC data. I did not know the answer to your question so I did some simple testing. ![]()
